Marco Attene is a research director at CNR IMATI, where he investigates new directions, paradigms and algorithms for 3D geometric modelling, processing and analysis. His most recent research deals with fast and robust geometric computation to reliably process meshes with possible defects in a guaranteed manner. Marco regularly collaborates with universities in Europe, North America and Asia, publishes on top tier journals in the area (ACM TOG, TVCG, CGF, ...), and is ranked in the top 2% most influential researchers in all fields of science.

Committed to research reproducibility, he complements his scientific writing by regularly publishing his software prototypes under open-source licenses, and his MeshFix system received the SGP Software Award in 2014. Marco served as General Chair of the Graphics Replicability Stamp Initiative, is vice-president of the Italian Chapter of the Eurographics Association, is an associate editor of Computer Graphics Forum and Computers&Graphics, and is a professional member of both ACM and the Eurographics association.
