Abstract:

Waterman aims at building a monitoring system for water management in a region in the Southern Balkans where rivers have become very polluted and often overflow. The project concerns the analysis of water quality and sources of pollution, as well as prediction of floods and pollution spread; it will make use of radio-computer systems for the collection of data, of numerical and statistical methods for their analysis, of a GIS for their representation, and of an expert system for the prediction of water-related events.
