Keywords:

Multimedia and net based training, continuous training, training on water management.

Abstract:

The project is aimed at realising a continuous training module in the water industry sector, based on multimedia and net-based technology.
New issues arising in the environmental field, such as European and national regulations, technologies and methodologies for safeguarding territory, require continuous training of personnel, mainly those employed in the water industry sector. As it is well known, educational technology offers new possibilities as to the development of effective continuous training systems, highly flexible, adaptable to specific needs, both educational and operative, usable by trainees living in geographical areas different from that of the trainer. The integration of multimedia and net-based technology, moreover, allows to combine, into a single environment, different approaches to learning. Thus, this kind of technology offers a valuable solution to the problem of realising training proposals which fit the needs of companies working in the same sector and pertaining to different countries. This possibility, moreover, facilitates the mutual recognition of skills and qualifications acquired.
Accordingly, the project will develop:

  • A model of continuous technology training, taking into account real educational needs and specific learning problems. This model will be mainly based on multimedia and network technologies, which introduce an innovative approach to continuing vocational training in the water industry sector. The real context of reference will be technological innovation in water network maintenance and rehabilitation.
  • A continuous training module, aimed at a future standard qualification among the countries involved in the project in order to establish a general training approach in the world of water industry
