Paola Forcheri

Paola Forcheri is senior researcher at IMA-CNR, where she is working since 1976. She earned her degree in Mathematics from the University of Genoa, in 1974. In the period 1975-76 she held a fellowship at the Mathematics Institute of the University of Genoa. Her research activity initially focused on CAI in mathematics teaching and learning. Then, her research interests broaden to two different themes. The fisrt theme regards teaching and learning models and methods based on multimedia and networking technology; application fields of the work are mathematics and informatics education and continuous training on the job. The seconf theme regards automated reasoning, applied to proof theory.

Besides the research activity, a considerable attention has always been paied to technology transfer problems and to the promotion of innovation, via the supervision of students and stagiaires, and the involvment in training activities about new technologies devoted to both school teachers and personnel of enterprises.

According to the CNR orientation and by means of collaborations with other institutions and enterprises, Paola Forcheri is involved in several European and national projects and contracts: for example, the project Teleconferencing of the EU Adapt Initiative, and the project Looking for a Job of the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Providence.

Paola Forcheri authored other 130 papers (about 70 of international level) and 4 trade-marks; she edited special issues of journals and conference proceedings; she took part in the scientific organisation of international and national events; dissemination of results and transfer of competencies is carried out also by giving talks. She contributes to ACM Computing Reviews and to BJET as reviewer.
