Monica De Martino

Monica De Martino is currently a researcher at the Institute for Applied Mathematics of the Italian National Council of Research in Genova. She graduated from the Department of Mathematics, University of Genova in 1992. She started her research activity on image processing and surface modeling as guest researcher at I.N.R.I.A. in Sophia Antipolis, France.

Since 1993 she has been working at the Institute for Applied Mathematics in Genova, with the Computer Graphic Group. She has been involved in some National and International Projects on spatial data processing and shape analysis and their application in Ergonomy, Anthropology and Cultural Heritage.
She performs a large research activity on Geographic Information System(GIS): GIS development, integration and application to the environmental management system.
Currently her research activity is also oriented to the Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing field, in particular to the CAD/CAM integration for manufacturing process of complex parts with 5-axis Numerical Control machining.

Her research interests are in Geometric Modeling, Spatial Data Processing and Analysis, Geographic Information System and NC 5-axis machining.
